Coastal Flats: Your Destination for Seafood and Sandwiches in Fairfax, VA

Ordered crab fritters- filet and crab cakes. Crab cakes were thin and had way too much seasoning. I'm sure we'll visit again and will order the crab fritters, they had lump crab and shrimp. The fritters were thick, fresh and had little to no seasoning allowing you to taste the crab, they were delicious. The filet was thinner and wider than any I've ever had. Was cooked med but was almost medium well. Potatoes on both plates were dry and needed some more sauce. Nice atmosphere, great waitress. Easy parking. Ate dinner on the patio.

I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner at Coastal Flats, and everything about the experience was spot on. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which really set the tone for the evening. The food and drinks were excellent — especially the cream of corn crab soup, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was fresh and well prepared, and the cocktails were just as impressive. What truly stood out was the ambiance. The restaurant had the perfect vibe: warm, relaxed, and comfortable. We were able to enjoy our meal and have a real conversation without feeling crowded or overwhelmed by noise — we weren’t right on top of other guests, which made the evening feel intimate and enjoyable. To top it off, we were lucky enough to find parking right near the restaurant, making the whole experience even smoother. Overall, it was a lovely evening with great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. I would absolutely return and highly recommend Coastal Flats for a special night out or any occasion.

Coastal flats, for all its reviews and hype, is totally worth it! Landed here on a weekend and even though the restaurant was fairly occupied, we were seated quickly. Reservations are preferred but it depends on the time and day. We decided to start off with the bread basket served with honey butter and crab sliders. Both were great to whet our appetite but the crab slider was truly the winner here. Next, we decided to order the bacon cheeseburger and the lobster roll and again both tasted simply amazing. The lobster roll is truly sinful with its buttered roll, roasted corn, and fries. All in all, this place gets it right with the vibe, decor, service, and food! :)

This was one of the best seafood restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Starting with the cleaniness of the place to the excellent customer service which included our server Jimmy, being very attentive. The food was just outstanding. We had everso flavorful Lobster Bisque, fresh deviled eggs, smoked salmon and crispy fish tacos. Each dish was freshly made, flavorful and hot. Even the bread was flavorful and moist. Portion size was just right and the entrees were served with a attractive presentation. Bravo! I highly recommend dining at this restaurant.

Coastal Flats is nothing short of transcendent. From the first moment to the final bite, it was a culinary experience that felt almost spiritual. The seafood was the freshest this side of heaven — pristine, vibrant, and prepared with reverence. The seared tuna was pure poetry on a plate. Expertly seared, delicately seasoned, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. One bite in, and my soul danced a full jig. It was that good. Every detail — the presentation, the pacing, the energy in the room — felt intentional and elevated. If you’re looking for seafood that awakens your palate and leaves a lasting impression, this is your sanctuary. I will be back — and often.

Stopped by the bar for a quick bite and refreshing drink. Had a tasty Limoncello spritz with the cucumber, tomato, and corn salad. Fresh and delicious! Servers were great, friendly, and showed genuine care for making sure every customer left satisfied.

Coastal Flats never disappoints, it is a solid all American restaurant experience ⭐ The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, it’s affordable, it has a nice atmosphere and its kid friendly. The Crab Cakes , Broccolini and the slaw were delicious

Four of us celebrated our birthdays at Coastal Flats in Fairfax Corner and we had an amazing time. The servers were very nice, accommodating and professional with their excellent service. We were able to bring our own birthday jello cakes! You can tell from the photos we truly had an enjoyable time.
